Re: Texas Summer 2025
I'm still seeing no signs of the rain chances ending... Even through mid July
We lose over a half hour of daylight this month too

Re: Texas Summer 2025
Tropical moisture will continue to surge into South Texas and across the southern Edwards Plateau/Rio Grande regions. While we havent picked up a huge amount of rainfall locally, we've received enough to also keep temps in check down here.
Looks like we may be in store for a few more days of afternoon showers/pop up storms mainly from SA points west. Hopefully folks will cash in on what I call "bonus rain" in our summer months. Always a plus to get anything in late June or July around here.

Brent yup, I see no indication of any massive heat down parking over the central US anytime soon, noaa 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks keep the pattern across oklahoma and texas active , big heat ridge looks to set up shop over the pacific NW

Anyone still having issues logging in Storm2K? Today is the first time in three days I've been able to log in. Still getting the 403 Forbidden page. Frustrating as hell.

Nice pop-up thunderstorm over North Dallas this afternoon. Poured for about 15 minutes - ended up with 0.82" at the house and some pretty intense lightning that knocked out power. Temp dropped from 90.3 to 70.2. This summer, so far anyway, has been very nice to us.

Re: Texas Summer 2025
The western half of the state has been getting a lot of rain especially by late June/July standards. I’ve received over 2 inches already with more rain coming through the week. The western monsoon and “ring of fire” around the ridge is contributing to this pattern. Also highs only in the 80’s for he next couple of days.

Re: Texas Summer 2025
Is there any truth to a strong +NAO leads to less heat waves in Texas? Started investigating this last year. Obviously, so many factors involved. I know Ntx mentioned a -PDO being a very important factor, but it looks like if there is a strong HP centered into the Atlantic, or shifted westward a bit, this lowers the chance of a heat dome centering itself over Texas. I have read that we should expect an upper level HP near the PNW, which is good for Texas. Maybe not so much for me.
Here in CO, on the front range, east of the Rockies, we have had a wet May 1 - Jun 30 period. Everything is very lush and green, I've been here four years and I have never seen the the grass so high in spots. Most of this is due to gulf moisture circling the HP that is centered around the eastern seaboard. Anyways, looking for some color on a few things.

It's been an awesome summer so far around here with several periods of enhanced rainfall across the region. More tropical downpours are moving across SA right now and we could see rain chances continue into the weekend, with a threat for more locally heavy rainfall. Love it!

Looks like an active pattern persists across the state well into the 2-3rd week of july, western US could get crushed by heat , looks like we could have more of a weakness over the central us with maybe even a backdoor front stalling out somewhere in texas next week, no complaints here! The deeper we go into summer and the death ridge is still pretty absent, the better

Yup seeing the same up here people talking about below normal temps and summer heat never showing up
I wouldn't go that far yet(some people are a bit dramatic up here) but tick tock as we get deeper into July for sure

It seems like there’s a death ridge every year now, it just depends where it decides to set up and how much it moves around.

Would Summer 2007 be the last time we went without them? I think most obs sites didn't hit 100 that summer...

Might have to get one. It's been difficult to see anything on the forum. It's been a 50/50 deal the last month.

Amazing weather for July. Been years since we've seen a pattern like this extend into July. My fear is we pay for it second half of summer.

Re: Texas Summer 2025
Well parts of SC TX from the southern HC down into portions of the northern SA metro points west could get a bunch of rain in a heck of a hurry if some of these hi-res models verify later today possibly into tomorrow.
As with the nature of these setups will have to see where the heaviest axis of storms develops but models are certainly highlighting this region for potential flooding. Central Texas may also see some isolated pockets of heavier rainfall as well.

I was thinking more nationally. If the Southern Plains doesn’t get absolutely blasted with heat, then it’s the East Coast, or the upper Midwest, or California, or the Pacific Northwest. It’s always somewhere.

Re: Texas Summer 2025
2020 and 2004 are the last two summers we never hit 100 up here. 2019 only had two which is the last time we had this much rain in the Spring. 2007 was actually near normal here with 6
I'm still worried about August though. Sometimes it's even worse then but we'll take when we can get this time of year

Re: Texas Summer 2025
Ongoing flooding occurring in the Hill Country/ West Central TX. Looks like a warm core low has developed.
