Slowing of posts pretty much says it all, summer climo doldrums is here. Hopefully soon by the new month we can increase some daily possibilities of pop up showers, right now it's mostly coastal regions that is getting any real chance, but still muggy down there as well as the rest of the state.

Will need to wait a little bit for the Pac NW trough to switch, it's a pretty good correlation in the summer months.

Nice little PW surge Tuesday and Wednesday with a weak inverted trough riding under the heat ridge. Should enhance afternoon storms near the coast, especially SETX (IMBY) and Louisiana. Inland, not so much. Some of the rain looks to get as far inland as the I-35 corridor and the MDT part of Texas looks to cash in from ex-Erick. But it looks like what is probably 2 months of mostly dry is starting for Texas W of about 100W.

On the plus side, while it is looking to be quite dry (which honestly OK could use the break), there's no signs of anything out of the ordinary (torch) in the forseeable future. Just seasonably hot temps in the low/mid 90s.

After the past 2.5 Summers, can't really complain about that...

Doesn't seem as humid today with a 92 currently. Not terrible, I would take this any day in summer. At least the days are getting shorter.

Fair enough. This is gonna be the first time since 2021 we don't hit 100 in June and well the river actually looks like a river

Meanwhile most of the east coast is headed for a historic heat wave

Wasn't any rain in the 7 day forecast but sea breeze thunderstorms made it here today, picked up a solid 0.58" to keep the ground wet even longer.

Okay so I'm out in Anaheim and let me tell you this summer weather, it feels like Fall.

We landed at Long Beach and needed to get blankets and jackets out of our bag it was so chilly out on Saturday.

It has always fascinated me seeing clouds moving in completely opposite directions in the same place, like right now over the DFW area. Low level clouds moving NNE, and high level clouds moving SSW.

Good morning. I am your local CIA liaison. We should have a chat.

Kidding.

Yes please. Until then I despise the next three months. 57 is happy though.

Summer barely started and I'm already sick of it. 3 months to go but at least by mid September you can see on the horizon of fronts even if not real.

No heatwaves for us in the near future, seasonably hot. Core of the ridges has been in the west, and now east. The dry stretch now is lingering a little longer than I'd like.

Eventually severe warned storm passed just N of my house. Thunder sounded fairly close. Tomorrow seems to be the last day of enhanced PW for a couple of days.

10 days from now, GEPS and ECENs have the ridge centered over the Gulf. I don't think we'll be getting little bits of jet stream energy that break off and circle back under the ridge. Still, better than the ridge on top of us. Still, 591 decamenter heights while warm aren't nuclear.

Actually there’s still a decent chance tomorrow (Thursday).

We really beat the odds today, a goodly rain shower happening in Arlington right now.
