Hmm, I interpreted johngaltfla's original post as meaning 20/9/4 by our convention, and not 20/5/4.20/5/4 would imply that 15 out of 20 named tropical cyclones do not become hurricanes, while 4 out of 5 hurricanes (Cat 1-5) become major hurricanes, which would be a very bizarre ratio.
- 20 storms attaining TS strength or higher, of which 11 peak at TS and do not become hurricanes (which they call "named tropical storms")
- 9 storms attaining Cat 1 strength or higher, of which 5 peak at Cat 1/2 and do not become major hurricanes (which they call "other hurricanes")
- 4 major hurricanes
Still feeling pretty comfortable with these numbers, can make them final.Woofde wrote:16-8-4, ACE: 140. Above average, but nothing crazy, that's my preliminary guess.

Well, those numbers are what he has and I add to the list. There is still time for changes as the poll closes on May 31rst at midnight so if the member wants to change them, will do that.
