Re: Texas Spring 2025
We largely busted up here(other than the rural areas south and east of here) besides one storm that was weakening as it came in. Quarter sized hail and maybe a 50 mph wind gust. Not even a single tornado warning anywhere in the metro. I mean I don't think anyone is really complaining but after all the hype and moderate risk and talk of historic outbreaks of the past it definitely fell flat
OKC was pushing 90 degrees and got even less than we did it didn't even rain in some areas!
Very strange day

I haven't seen the sun since 11am on Saturday.
Good riddance to the past 3 days!

Send that rain to the southern half of the state already.

Didn't have much rain here either the past few days.
But yes, be my guest! So done with gloomy weather...

Models setting us up in the southern portion for another disappointing event. I’m sure we’ll get our standard 0.25-0.5” and then summer is right here.

Re: Texas Spring 2025
I'm cautiously optimistic a wetter pattern will return to south and central TX next week. It's definitely not a sure thing...but the latest ensembles generally agree on 1-3 inches of rain for much of the state. Hopefully this time there will be at least one round of widespread rain unlike the last event that was scattered and totally missed some areas.

Re: Texas Spring 2025
May have to watch overnight around the San Antonio metro as a few of the 0z hi-res models do show some potential for a few isolated storms to develop
Not a sure thing, but considering models haven't shown much of anything down here prior to this evenings suite, it wouldn't surprise me if something verified as the front moves in. I'd probably laugh if it did all things considering (all the previous misses). SPC holding on to that possibility as well

I’ve only had about 3” since the beginning of April.

Yeah just noticed this. Looks like it’s trying to make a beeline for me in Dallas.

And a Severe T'Storm Watch.
It may end up slipping by just to my south though.

Sneaky late nighter. Although technically under a severe thunderstorm watch but it feels sneaky.

The warning came before the watch cough cough.
Was pretty windy but only pea hail. New roof safe for now.
Quick half inch.

Re: Texas Spring 2025
Warning just extended to Dallas county, now warned for 70mph winds and quarter size hail

Re: Texas Spring 2025
The new warning also includes far southern Collin County.
And about damn time!!! The storm expanded/drifted north just enough for a solid hit here.

The EPS looks good, GEFS not so much. I’m leaning towards more of what we saw in April with the hit or miss type stuff.

Wow what a difference 24 hours makes.
This morning is absolutely gorgeous after the last few days of horrific Houston like humidity.

Probably won’t happen again till late September or October. Enjoy it. It’s 81°F at 7am down here. Insane lows for May.

Re: Texas Spring 2025
For DFW proper, severe weather has been lackluster (good thing for us homeowners) and rainfall running just a tad below normal at 2.31 month to date, not by much though. It's been about normal temp wise.
MCS season soon, should've been really. NW flow. The Pacific NW is progged for above normal heights which is warm for them. During the warm season we are typically inverted of what happens there, cool and wet.
