Currently working on my experimental numbers, it's spitting out a wacky, tricky season with:
23/10/3 & ACE of 150

Guess I'll make these numbers final too :)

Hmm, I interpreted johngaltfla's original post as meaning 20/9/4 by our convention, and not 20/5/4.
  • 20 storms attaining TS strength or higher, of which 11 peak at TS and do not become hurricanes (which they call "named tropical storms")
  • 9 storms attaining Cat 1 strength or higher, of which 5 peak at Cat 1/2 and do not become major hurricanes (which they call "other hurricanes")
  • 4 major hurricanes
20/5/4 would imply that 15 out of 20 named tropical cyclones do not become hurricanes, while 4 out of 5 hurricanes (Cat 1-5) become major hurricanes, which would be a very bizarre ratio.

Pardon the interruption, but don't you mean 20/9/4?
4 majors plus 5 other hurricanes equals 9 total hurricanes. And 9 hurricanes plus 11 tropical storms equals 20 total storms, just as you described in your first post.

Edit: Teban beat me while I was distracted by a client! =D

Well, those numbers are what he has and I add to the list. There is still time for changes as the poll closes on May 31rst at midnight so if the member wants to change them, will do that.

Still feeling pretty comfortable with these numbers, can make them final.

With only 9 days left for the poll to close and as of this post, there are 24 members that still have preliminary numbers on the list of participants, so come to change them to final before the poll closes on the 31rst at midnight EDT. If I find preliminary after the poll closes, will consider them as final.

And those members that have not posted numbers yet, come to be added. Let's see if it can reach 100. :woo:
