If we're still going to see another major hurricane, I think it will likely come out of that area that the GFS is depicting around the October 15th - 20th timeframe. But since 2024 has been an extremely backloaded season, I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 more majors rotating somewhere in the MDR ( ), Caribbean or GOM

Guess what, what GFS has developing on long range is from the wave now with 20%. Look closely. :D

My best guess is Oct 22 - 28, especially on/around October 25

These La Niña/Cool-Neutral seasons almost always have some sort of strong hurricane in the West Caribbean during late October/early November (i.e., Roxanne, Michelle, Lenny, Paloma), so I’ll go for October 22-28, which should be when the MJO returns to the Atlantic.

As much as I'd like to choose 2025 and beyond, 2024 is solely a middle finger to climatology. As a result, I think that a major will likely occur in late October.

Well there was that model trying to show a 960 storm in central gulf around the 23rd last night but pure fantasy. We will be having 70’s for highs next week

Looks like the next major will be Leslie. If everything occurs right in the next few days, we may end October with atleast 14 TS/10 H/6 MH and 155 ~ 160 ACE points. It doesn't feel a big bust to me, especially after Helene, Kirk and Milton.

I think the next system will become named on the 22nd of Oct., in the western Caribbean, Nadine and become a major on the 19th anniversary of Wilma hitting south Florida on the 24th of Oct. A long shot to go to a major in two days but that is my prediction because this year is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

I beg to differ. I've worked in forestry and wildlife mgt for 40 yrs. Mother Nature has always been a part of my life. Let's all hope this season will soon end. To say the least it's been a strange season. God help the people affected by these storms in Fla, Ga,SC and Nc. God Bless The United States of America.

This is a weather forum to discuss just that. We love weather nobody said anything about wanting a catastrophe to happen. You’re on this site reading this exact thread because you too like tropical weather don’t judge.

Every time I mention that I love hurricanes, I always get people Saying that I’m terrible because of the destruction they can cause. You can love an event without liking the aftermath.
