We finally had rain out here for 3 days in a row. Not much today, but around 3 inches the 2 previous days. When you get a storm it’s putting down some heavy big drops.

Picked up around 2" of h2o in Palestine and Alderbranch this week. No complaint's here. Been loving these lower temps. Finally ran the weed eater around the house late this morning when the temps were nice.

With August 2024 having come to a close, 2024 was the 16th hottest Summer on record for DFW with an average temp of 86.0°F and the 10th hottest August on record with an average temp of 88.9°F (or 3.2°F above average).

While not nearly on the level of 2023, 1998, 1980 or 2011 hot, it was still up there with 1999, 2012 and 2018 in terms of overall intensity as well as 2.1°F above average.

August 2024 did tie with August 2010 for the 16th driest on record as well (with only 0.41" of precip).

Front backing up in surface analysis. Ugh. This is getting frustrating.

High temp already above forecast. Probably 95 again.

I mean there's still something of a front but I remember talk of 70s for highs. 90s both days this weekend

With heights never getting below 588dm, the really cool temps advertised were always unrealistic.

That being said, there still will be a few "seasonably cool" days in store to start the week due to extensive cloud cover.

Really quiet, probably because even tomorrow looks like DFW and East TX gets screwed.

West TX needed the rain bad so glad to see flash flooding in Midland etc.
