Re: Florida Weather
Had one day with some decent showers, Sunday....last couple days not a drop in sight. This is a pretty tepid start to rainy season.

Re: Florida Weather
Hopefully we can get a June plume from the Caribbean...or even a slop storm to jump start the rainy season. We need that and we're in the hunt

Here's your "June plume" - GFS wants to give us a foot of rain next week:

Re: Florida Weather
However high the risk of heavy rain is...is no doubt enhanced by our warmer than normal shelf waters. A June plume of gloom...as I like to call it...is a fairly common catalyst to our rainy season...although it's been awhile since we've had one of these. We're due and I'm cheering it on..as are our resident amphibians

Re: Florida Weather
NWS Miami mentioned up to 2.8" PWAT...not sure I've seen that before. Honestly, it's kinda started already - yesterday my area had 2 rounds of pretty significant storms. First at 3pm, then some weird outflow boundary interaction caused another to pop up practically overhead at 7pm. Probably close to a couple inches in total yesterday, and perhaps more today....ahead of the main event. I'm gonna go from brown grass to deluged, it seems.

Mowed yesterday, figuring I wouldn't get a chance until next weekend when I might need a machete.

Can't ever remember a system progged to dump this much rain without at least being classified as a depression.

Re: Florida Weather
We had 2" rainfall yesterday morning then all quiet. Made sure I mowed the lawn as well, but in the heat of the day it was no fun at all. Better than waiting for 4 more days of tropical rain though.

I used this as an opportunity to clean and scrub my balcony between heavy rounds of rain

13.11 three day total at my castle, 9.32 yesterday. The setup looks similar today and tomorrow, it's all about who gets the train; yesterday, we did with cells moving across Aligator Alley. Fortunately, I am able to pump water down the driveway into the street; we have a few feet of elevation, and that is all that is needed.

Due to the widespread heavy rains and clouds, Key West buoy water temp dropped from 32.0C 4 days ago to 30.0C now.

We were lucky in SE Florida; the complex was winding up and hit hostile conditions as it moved east through the glades. Miami NWS Employee Sami Hadi presented a simple and effective explainer, follow him and you will learn things. 13.65 over 4 days, no problem at my house with the assistance of a pump in my pool. This morning looks interesting, less than 2 inches of rain will flood today.
