Boy rescued in house fire

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Thu Nov 20, 2003 8:30 am

By Deanna Boyd, Star-Telegram Staff Writer

FORT WORTH, Texas - When Lonnie Miller Sr. emerged from surgery Wednesday morning, his first thoughts were of his grandson, Lonnie Miller III.

Hours earlier, the elder Miller had cut his arm severely, requiring surgery on a damaged tendon and nerve, when he broke windows so his family could escape from a fire consuming their one-story brick house at 1209 E. Pulaski St.

When firefighters arrived, the front of the house was engulfed in flames and Miller lay in the driveway, bleeding from his arm and screaming that his 2-year-old grandson was still inside.
