Looks like Tyler ended up down to 13F this morning. My house got down to 11F in Lindale. Tyler is going to end up with 54 hours at 20 or below and by tomorrow Tyler will be around 95 hours below freezing.

and as soon as the sun warmed up my south wall the burst pipes started leaking. What worked in 2022 didn't work this year.

Luckily it appears as of now we will warm up fast because nobody wants freezing rain believe me

Sorry to hear that. I had one pipe freeze last year but no burst pipes. I havent noticed any issues this time.

Sorry to hear that. I hope it was confined to outside the house and not inside. We have an outside spigot that is on the garage wall facing North. It has no chance of not freezing when it gets this cold. Inside the garage is cold so there's no heat to radiate into the wall. I stuff the stryofoam covers with towels to try and create as much insulation as a I can, but not much else I can do. So far it's only ruptured twice since 2013. I have a friend who does these repairs for $125, so if needed, I have a cost effective fix.

Unless something really changes I don't see us being cold enough for a big ice storm next week even up here we are way above freezing for a high as of now

Actually next week it warms up quite a bit and then we should enter a significant wet period. Don’t look for any significant cold to come back till very late this month or early February.

It’s amazing how you get used to the cold. Did a little yard cleanup/plant checking today at 28* just in a sweater and it didn’t seem too cold at all.

Pass on the warm spring. I’ve seen too many warm springs filled with upper 80s and into the 90s.

It's been awhile since we've had a warm spring. We'll get a day or two teasing of warm, then cold/chilly just in time for Spring Break to be ruined if you're staying in DFW... I'll take 86 degree Spring days all year long over that.

North winds have finally weakened as the axis of an arctic high
settles across the area. Though arctic airmasses traditionally do
not radiate as efficiently as continental ones; light winds, clear
skies and exceptionally dry air will still allow temperatures to
fall into the teens areawide tonight. A county or two may reach 10
degrees, but will forego another Hard Freeze Warning as
conditions will be borderline and the cold weather messaging is
essentially the same.
