Re: Texas Fall 2023
27.5 IMBY is impressive for Nov. 1. I have it fairly high up too to try to get some wind as best it can in the suburbs.
Warmed up fast though!

it was 31 at the house this morning. Didn't think it was frost on the windshield until I turned the wipers on, and yep it was frost.

At NTRA, it hit 28 degrees yesterday morning on Halloween and then again this morning.
Also, October ended with an amazing 9.01 inches of rainfall at the Austin College Weather Station site out west of town.

Hypothetical time. Pick one; a World Series victory for the Rangers or a 12 inch Christmas blizzard with temps in the mid 20s that sticks for a few days? I've been waiting for a Rangers WS for 40 years so that's my pick. (Dis)Astros fans can respond also.

We’ll I’ve only experienced one of these… so I vote Rangers.
It was 6-7” at least back in 2009 in Cooke County.
Also, hot take. Snow on Christmas kinda sucks because everyone still tries to drives it makes a mess of Christmas plans.

Seems like most NTX folk only care about the football team up there. This WS has the lowest ratings of all-time. Wonder how many people from there would want a WS win or a win this weekend vs the Eagles?

WS win of course! Baseball and WS in general has been on decline for decades with little bumps up here and there in viewership. Make no doubt the folks in the DFW area are watching.

Rangers victory. I love snow but the rangers have never won so I need that to happen.

Think that has more to do with Arizona than the Rangers.

Yeah outside of DFW and Phoenix viewership is poor but I don't care. Baseball is pretty much a regional game nowadays unless the east or west coast is involved. NFL is king no matter the match up. A childhood dream potentially coming true has me excited regardless of national interest. Go Rangers!!!!

Even a Yankees/Dodgers WS wouldn't draw what it did pre 2000. Football is seeing a decline too, some aspect is because of cord cutting to streaming services and so many avenues to keeping up with scores without having to actually watch the game. I remember 2010-2011 the Rangers other WS showing was 'lowest of the time' but would be among highest since then.

Most people younger than 30 nowadays are more a fan of players vs teams. Drives me crazy! I’m a Houston sports fan lifer! No matter what.

It's the attention span. Being a fan of local teams takes a lot of patience. Astros fans waited years for sustained success and it paid off. Rockets have had a great history. Up here the Mavs, Stars and Rangers have had some success and of course the Cowboys have a great championship history pre 1996. True life long fans are a dying breed I'm afraid.
By the way it is currently 56 degress at DFW. Got to stay true to the forum.
