Mild temps continue for the Northeast..........

#1 Postby LehighValleyForcaster » Wed Nov 19, 2003 6:43 am

It looked like some colder temps were going to move into the region towards the end of November into early December but looks like that has changed.

Again the region will experience warmer temps again.

Rain will be falling in areas but no snow.

There is always a possibility that snow will fall in the higher elevation but that is the extent of it.

I know that snow usually falls by the end of December but at this time I still see no indications of such event occuring.

Maybe January 2004 will bring snow to the region but with that El Nino developing...........who can really say.

LehighValley - I am thinking the turn to colder weather will begin around Thanksgiving, and temps will be below normal in early December. I am not sure how long this will last, as it may very well be transient.

Yea, with a developing Nino who can really say anything about snow. Maybe it'll be like the weak nino last winter. Or during the early 90s. Or 77-78. Or stronger like 65-66, 57-58. All those were horrible, warm snowless winters.

King,

I don't know anymore.

Our temps hit and broke an all time high today of 70 plus.

The weather forecasters did not even see this one come.

We also had very heavy rain and some heavy storms are to move thru my region later on tonight.

Now with what I said in my post is another story.

I know what I said sounded "bizarre" but the weather itself is "bizarre".......always changing and not doing what the forecasters are forecasting.

Maybe in time things will level out and then we will be able to foresee what really is on the horizon.

This is why I said what I said and unsure of anything that may come our way.

I like the weather but sometimes I feel it don't like me.

I for one am not complaining about the mild temps. This will be my first winter in the Buffalo area and I would like to ease into it.
