If that CDO can smoothen out, we could maybe see this just barely limp its way to Cat 2 intensity.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

NOAA2 recon should be descending shortly.

Looks better than I expected this morning but it needs to tighten up that core

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

Still ragged but improving nicely. Probably fits the definition of annular hurricane since epsilon 05 did.

92 kt FL, 75 kt SFMR in the N quad. Assuming some undersampling, NHC's 11am estimate of 80 kt / 975 mb seems spot on.

The donut ring of convection has gotten much thicker this morning, looks less anemic now. Still strengthening.

Yes, in that loop the clouds on the eastern side of the eye appear to be forming a chevron shape.

Pressure looks to be dropping a tiny bit. However, recon is having a hard time finding winds that blended together support anything higher than 75-80 kt.

Recon is finding 100 kt flight level winds, which supports 90 kt for Hurricane Nigel.
