Hopefully 91L brings some much needed rain down here. This should end the 100+ degree streak for McAllen. If we reach 100 today this would be the 44th consecutive day of 100+ degree day

SA should hopefully see at least one band, and Austin could get lucky as well. Hey, at least we finally have a chance of rain again this week!

Let’s hope so. Frankly I think we need to be concerned about the fire threat tomorrow. Increased winds from the tropical system and a landscape burnt and dry as a bone. This was how the fires in 2011 started … Tropical Storm Lee moving north in Louisiana. Texas was on the dry side and had winds.

We should have quite a bit more moisture in the air tomorrow than we did with Lee in 2011. Easterly winds will help to pump in moisture from the Gulf on the northeast side of the system.

Almost afraid to admit it, but the 6z gfs run is one of the less terrible runs I’ve seen in a while. Still hot, but rain chances start to return after day 7.

The Heat dome becomes dirty, which is you want to see.

I'll believe it when it happens. Otherwise, I'm just gonna assume it's gonna be like this until we start getting some frontal action.

Even PTC 9 is barely going to make a dent in this death ridge.

What are those white objects in the sky? They look vaguely familiar. I think the Old Timers called them clouds

Several FW and DFW Air stations are tracking 4 to 5 degrees cooler than projected. Unfortunately dew points are up, so the heat index is about the same as yesterday.

Not sure, I think they might be cotton candy. wxman is in the tropical thread, poo-poo'ing on our Houston rain chances. We're so damn close to getting a few outer bands, but it looks like we're going to miss out.

TD 9 looks pretty lopsided and sheared out IMO...maybe we get more coverage to the north rainfall wise in SC TX?

Well it's definitely not coming to Houston. The dry air is like a sponge. It poofs as it hits the coast.

We're paying for all the rain we got...

Sometimes it ain't a good thing. Like Tulsa hasn't set one record high temperature this year but yet...

I don’t even see how it’s possible to have feels like temps that high all the way in OK. I never would’ve thought that.
