I have a Tempest Weather Station by WeatherFlow. I bought it a few years ago. It has worked great. No moving parts, but still measures the full array of weather data including lightning detection. It's solar powered and has no batteries to climb up to replace. The rainfall measurements seem to be very accurate. The app is simple and works great. I would recommend it to anyone.

Will it track and store the historic weather at our house so I can see it at a glance, maybe in calendar form?
Sorry for all the questions, and I appreciate your help!
Thanks!

Yes, historic weather data can be accessed from the app. I can select data by the day, week, month, year, and all-time. I haven't researched customization in a long time, but there's an online community that discusses ways to view and manipulate the data. If you are tech savvy at all it probably isn't too hard. Otherwise the app does what I need in this regard. WeatherUnderground also has this functionality if you set up your weather station on their website.

I appreciate your help. This sounds like the unit for me.
Thanks!

I'm amazed we're even talking about a flood anything this deep into July

Yet there's still been not enough rain in the worst drought areas north of here

It's crashing and banging outside, the rainfall rates are ridiculous.

Clouds and outflow kept us from 100F today, low 90s now. However with dewpoints in the mid 70s (sounds like a broken record?) feels atrocious. This has got to be one of the highest dewpoint spring and summer we have ever had here...consistently feels more like Miami.

Yeah, I'm under a Heat Advisory. I got 2.75 (Rain guage said 2.7, but there was wind involved) inches this morning.

I recently woke up from a 4 hour nap. I really needed it!

Extreme NE Texas is well above normal for rainfall for month to date, for the past 3 months and year to date. The same can be said for areas to our north, east, and south.

I'm an idiot...was referring to the "epic" 1950s Texas Drought. Thanks for catching that.

Hi there, longtime North Texas summer hater checking in here for the month:

It doesn't feel any worse than usual. It's always hot and humid here and it sucks and I hate it every year. At least we're getting occasional storms and overcasts thus far. It could always be 2011. Thank God for the rain. Carry on, I'm going back to my cave.

Well, I'm definitely paying for the rainfall, I'm under the first Excessive Heat Warning of the year. :spam:

6Z GFS says it will be a pleasant next 10 days across the Houston area. Just raw 2m temps plotted. 6-hr rainfall is plotted, too. That's the black line across the bottom (zero). I got 2.1 inches of rain last weekend, but you can't tell looking at the grass now.

This happened just to the east of Texarkana last night. Some areas received close to a foot of rain:

Heat index of 108 and we're not even to the hottest part of the day yet :spam: I mean the temps haven't been that crazy tbh. We've only hit 100 once(last year 27 days) but this humidity has got to go

I wish I could send this rain in Mississippi to Texas. It has been raining here almost every day and rained several inches today alone.

Meh, that’s what it’s been here every day since late May basically.

Heat index of 115 now. At least up here that's about as bad as it gets. I feel sorry for y'all down there

It's to the point now where I rarely go outside except to go to work. Any errands I need to make are completed before noon at the latest. It is too damn hot for me to be outside while the sun is shining. Evenings and nights are tolerable and thank goodness the days are slowly getting shorter, although that fact won't make much difference until later in the summer.

And an 80 degree dp to get there. At least in NTX the dp's have come down quite a bit, even compared to Monday. High 60/low 70 dp are much more tolerable than 78-80. Of course the tradeoff is that the temps come up a tad. Hottest day of the summer so far at DFW. 7th day of 100+. This time last year we were at 19 so at least we're not that bad...yet.
