I don't think I've seen wind like that since a couple hurricanes when I was a kid in Alabama

My apartment complex is a disaster area
Although I drove a couple miles west and it's not nearly as bad(with power!)

Re: Texas Summer 2023
Congrats to those that got rain over the past couple of weeks. Things look to turn bleak for much of the Southern Plains now, with the Euro Weeklies showing the ridge slowly retrograding and then building northward to dominate the 4-corners area. That looks to keep most of us pretty dry through the end of July, so much for the dreams of a cool wet El Nino summer. I'll still hold out hope that we can get an MCS to find a weakness and dive down into NTX.

Glad you guys made it out safely, losing power sucks. Reminds me of the June wind storm in Dallas county a few years back with all the downed trees (crane fell into condo on the news) that took weeks to clear out.

Re: Texas Summer 2023
I remember a big wind storm as a kid that literally had roll clouds (never seen those again). But the clouds literally were rolling like a rolling pin on the leading edge. Had to be near 90 mph winds.

I'm on day 3 with no power at my house. Some people are getting lucky and getting theirs back. But the latest update says it could still be as late as Friday before power is restored here.

Hope it turns on quickly or you can find a place to stay cool.

No kidding. That sounds awful during this heat.

There was a nice cluster of storms this afternoon, just NW of San Antonio, but it looks like they are fading now. Someone probably got some hail and torrential downpours.

Got power back yesterday evening! I was staying at my girlfriend's house who had power. It is definitely too hot to stick around with no A/C.

It was only a matter of time until north TX got into this ugly weather pattern we've been in south TX for over a week now. Gotta hope the longer range models projection of some relief in July comes to fruition or it's gonna be a long and brutal summer.
