Looks like more is loading up towards brownwood again. I don’t think temps are going to move much if any. Does anyone have a rough estimate of how much ice may already be on power lines in DFW?

I agree; I think the freezing line stays on the other side of the lakes until tomorrow morning.

Tough to tell on accretion amounts but DFW has seen 1/4 inch in past few hours before this current batch, which this batch may double those amounts. More behind it, not good

Ch8 Pete Delkus said above 32 in DFW by 9:00am tomorrow and Ch5 Rick Mitchell thinks heat rise has plateaued until mid to late morning to get above freezing.

At least it’s not in the 20’s anymore but lots of qpf to come below freezing. Not good.

How cold has it been in the Hill Country with all the problems you folks have had?

My weather station showed temps were between 30.5 and 32.0 when the heavy rain fell while I was asleep. Iced all the trees and weighed them down.

I noticed Rick Mitchell called for only .10” more of ice overnight. Pete Delkus still had .25”-.5”. Major difference there given what’s already on trees and power lines.

Looks like this latest batch is pretty heavy but fast moving. I would shoot the over on Ricks prediction. I’m just not sure how much is already built up down towards Austin they have to have close to an inch of ice on most trees.

30.9 here. Trees leaning on the house. No more melting from the roof etc.. I can hear branches craving down the alley. It’s so close to 32 and hoping this next batch brings down some warmer air, if there any there.

It’s unwalkable out our front door. I’ve never seen anything this bad in the ground.

Hard to tell with the ground solid white, but it sounds like some sleet is mixing in here. For sure, some "pingers" against the window.

It's very hard to judge here due to the darkness and no decent street lighting in north FW neighborhoods. But, definitely getting accretion now on the fence, etc.

You have to put it on a hosting site first. Like Imgur or others. After you have a link from there it’s easy by putting the url between the brackets that appear when you click the “IMG” button (that is an option when composing a message here.) Most people don’t realize it has to be hosted somewhere, they don’t store images in Storm2k itself.

What an ice storm…and tonight only seems to be insult to injury. Woke up to freezing rain in Norman and it looks reminiscent of the warm season nocturnal precip maximum around here. Hope everyone is staying safe, especially y’all in central TX and DFW. Looking forward to the warmer weather over the following week and hopefully there’s a proper snowstorm in the cards later this month for y’all.

Thunderstorms here in Austin.

32 and steady moderate rain in Lindale. School scheduled to open at 10 but with number of outages and trees down I won't be surprised if they cancel today. All area school delayed and many cancelled today. Mostly due to widespread trees down and related power issues.

And now Lindale closed, sounds like many roads around the area are impassable due to numerous trees down.
