^ Impressive low-level structure on the AMSR2 (GCOM-W1) microwave pass. ASCAT and HY-2B passes yesterday showed winds of 35-40kts.

Yeah, both agencies the NHC and CPHC don't name Subtropicals in the EPAC and CPAC.

Yeah, both agencies the NHC and CPHC don't name Subtropicals in the EPAC and CPAC.
Likely because of the rarity of Subtropical cyclones in the EPAC and CPAC.

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.
Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.
Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information
Never say Never with weather! Because ANYTHING is possible!

They're actually common. Just isn't much interest for threads to be created for each system compared to the Atlantic.

This is sorta a can of warms. Some literature considered Kona lows to be subtropical cyclones though I'd only entertain classifying them as such if they shed their frontal characteristics.
