Hard to say but maybe? I certainly see the westward motion but it's a short loop and it may have just started gaining latitude. Btw, you notice how the eye feature looks exactly like Lake Apopka LOL?
Except the waters underneath the eye are a lot nicer looking than Lake Apopka

Hight tide along Florida's east coast is around 815pm(local) give or take about half an hour depending on exact location. Tomorrow is 830am +/- 30min. If this jogs a little further than expected, landfall will be at high tide...this is already a "king" tide so not good for the beaches.
This morning's high tide brought water into the parking lots of Cocoa Beach. There is a good chance the Cocoa Beach pier will.no longer be standing. Its one of the last wooden piers on Florida's east coast and been through a lot. Today's surf was crashing just below it. Only a few more feet and it will have crashing waves over the structure.

the storm is huge doesn’t really make that much of a difference in terms of winds except near the centerKat5 wrote:AutoPenalti wrote:Kat5 wrote:
Gained some latitude too.
It did not. Still 265.
NHC says 275 and the storm was at 26.5 N the previous advisory.

I will make a prediction no land locations will record sustain TS winds or hurricane.

From your lips to God's ears!
I hope you're right, but I'd be shocked.

There’s no punch to any of these bands and those winds you see in velocity just are not reaching the surface. Garbage

The rain bands coming through have little wind at least here in coastal Boca Raton.
We had much stronger winds last night gusting to 40mph.

I mean, it’s a weak category 1. It’s not borderline category 4/5 Ian…

I mean, no, it's extremely unlikely anybody is getting sustained hurricane forced winds, but there's almost no chance nobody gets sustained winds of 39 MPH, somewhere....

Weak 1 lol I get it but when you see 65 mph winds show up on velocity and have it come over and the tress don’t budge that’s what call garbage. I would have felt it by now if there was any sustain TS winds surely

It is almost dead calm out there right now here in coastal Boca Raton, with a 20mph gust here and there.
