Broward County vs Miami/Dade

I guess it depends on the leadership as to what they decide to do.

Looking more like a hybrid storm than anything. Really shouldn’t be upgraded to a hurricane. Squally day or so for Florida and the east coast before this front comes down and ends the season.

Still a southerly component to her movement. Watching to see when it's due west.

How long does it do that before it begins WNW, I wonder?

Looks to be wobbling westward lately. I think we will see a north component after exiting the Bahamas. Really the only change for impact is the coastal population that gets the south portion, north impacts are pretty set already. Perhaps Tampa could get worse impacts if it goes just south of them but this one seems loaded up on the west side anyways so that probably wont make much difference.

Lines up with what I see on the steering layer maps - it looks like there still should be some southerly component due to the orientation of that high. I wonder if this ends up pulling a Katrina and coming in a little south of expected.

I could never nail down what causes some cyclones to get a charge from the Gulf Stream and others not...We'll see what happens with Nicole...

I think Sanibel might be spared a direct hit - which is good...

Nicole will strengthen over the Gulf Stream, especially with the tighter core.
