Do we have any ~Dallas~ fans in the house?

If so, the infamous episode when dastardly JR Ewing gets shot (which originally aired on Friday, March 21, 1980), re-airs tonight: November 14, at 7 p.m. EST on Soapnet. Read all about here:
http://soapnet.go.com/onlyonsoapnet/fre ... hotjr.html

Back in the day, I was a huge, die-hard Dallas fan! Yes indeed, I truly was. Dallas remains as my #2 favorite TV Show of all time.

Now if you weren't a Dallas fan, please be kind, and allow me to revel in my Dallas memories......My Friday nights were once ruled by the Ewing family.....LOL

I LOVED to watch Dallas Miss Mary! I watched that instead of Dynasty.

I wish that Bobbie and Pamela were able to live "Happily Ever After". :(

Soapnet? Now I need to check and see if I get Soapnet on Dish Network. I'm leaving for, of all places, Dallas tonight for a wedding this weekend. I'll have to remember to set the recorder before I leave.

Thanks for letting us know, Miss Mary! :)

I never watched it much. But 2 years ago, I went to Dallas and while I was there, I visited Southfork Ranch. The actual ranch that they used for the opening fly-over scene. They also did alot of the shoots there. Boy can they make a small place look huge through the magic of television.

Stephanie/Linda/Shawn - I was tempted to delete this topic a few hours ago. Thinking I was the ~only~ Dallas fan here......LOL The fact that I even started this topic was a little embarrassing.....he he But then this is an important day out there to all Dallas fans! Shawn - these times are for my area, EST, so adjust - I'm having it taped from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. (I'm having her tape one more hour to be sure I get it), Nov. 14. The first hour I heard is a Dallas reunion on Soapnet's show called SoapTalk. Linda Grey, Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Charlene Tilton showed up. It was aired a few days ago and will be reaired before the 2 hour show tonight when JR actually gets shot. You see I don't have Soapnet and have a relative taping for me. And now I really want to see next weeks episodes too b/c if you'll all remember the 3 episodes after he's shot are very, very important to see! I just need to twist my hubby's arm so we can upgrade to the level Soapnet is on....he he

Stephanie - Bobby and Pam were always my favorite D couple. I just hated that they broke up....that evil Katherine.....and then how they wrote her off the show, well that just didn't seem at all like something Pam would have done.

Wow, don't get me started on Dallas......LOL

Mary

PS - hey girls, I'm sooooo glad to see I wasn't the only female Storm2K member who used to watch Dallas!!!! Group (((hug)))!

Big Fan - didn't miss an episode. Everyone thought all Texans lived like them - NOT!!!

Dallas, Knots Landing and Dynasty - wow I planned my week by the T.V. Guide LOL. Don't have any kind of shows like that on today.

Ticka - when I got my weekly TV Guide, I immediately went to Dallas' listing, then Knots Landing. Among many others. But always Dallas first. It was sad when it left the air (KL too). I cried, no lie, cried.

I visited Southfork in 84! Yes I did! I was between marriages, having fun being single for the first time in my life. Fell in love with an attorney here in Cincinnati. But then he was transferred to Dallas. Then I thought, mmmmmmm, Dallas huh......and wouldn't you know we stayed in touch. He invited me down for a long weekend. He was not a fan of Dallas but he drove me out to the ranch. I was like a little kid, well, I was only 29 then. LOL He kept shaking his head, he didn't understand why I HAD to see the Southfork ranch. And sit on the diving board, look at the patio. I even had my picture taken by the front door. He asked - why the front door? I said - they never used the front door! He thought - what a crazy show this must be. LOL But hey, I got a trip to Southfork out of that romance....:-)

Mary

PS - here's a little secret to share with you girls.....I used to post on the Soapnet board a lot, and I mean a lot! My screen name is DallasKLfan. Yes, that's me!!!! Miss Mary, aka DallasKLfan. he he I used the same name for both KL and Dallas boards there along with the ultimate boards for both shows too.

Blizzard - just noticed your reply. You snuck in here, we must have been posting at the same time. Yes I thought Southfork looked very small compared to how large it seemed on TV. Especially for the Ewing BBQ's or weddings. The area they used looked huge for those shows. When you saw it in real life, it was a letdown almost. The pool seemed tiny! And I mean tiny. As did the surrounding patio. The breakfast table with yellow cushions was the same back then. I've read it's a real money maker now. Museum nearby, etc. When I went a family still lived there and you had to leave the grounds by 5 p.m. And you couldn't peek inside. Although the inside shots were all filmed in Hollywood anyway.

{{{HUGS}}} back!

When I first saw "who's a Dallas fan?" I thought it was about the football team, but I'm glad that I investigated alittle further! :D
