The sun is out in San Juan although not as brillant as always because of some high clouds but it is a sign that things slowly are drying up and hopefully this weekend all the rivers and creeks go down to a normal stage.

It has been cloudy here this morning as it has been all week ( that is if it wasn't raining)
but I swear not 10 minutes ago I walked out my door and I felt something strange.
it was something warm on my face.
I looked up and amazingly I too saw the sun!
Hooray!
It felt so good to feel that warmth on my face! Of course, it is clouding back up again but at least there is some hope!

Great news for you over there too as the rains has been plenty although not as the rainfall totals here over 23 inches.Let's see how the weekend shapes up and if a drying trend comes or still we will have some lingering showers around. But msbee in general the whole system is moving slowly NE away from the caribbean but we have to watch a weak cold front that will come down to the deep tropics and that could provide some more rains but not the ones from the past 5 days.

The sun has shined almost all afternoon in great portions of the island and that is making the rivers and creeks go down in a steady phase.I know that today ST Thomas and ST John had heavy rains today between 2-4 inches there so I hope that it ends for them too.

It took until this afternoon to actually SEEEEEEEEEEE the sun but we were all howling and happy! A weak sun but enough to cast shadows;) Friend called from St. John, not good there yet but soon come as we say...
The end and the beginning is in sight.
(not wanna look at something next...taking this sun moment for what it's worth!)

What a shock, after it all seemed over, to have it start POURING, slamming down, this morning, which is going on right now. A look at the radar shows a band of intense activity and for some reason Culebra is right in the middle of it. I can only imagine people waking up now to the same feelings I'm having...

Good to hear you're finally seeing the sun. My mom-in-law and sis-in-lawgot back home Wed on the 5th. I told them they were lucky to get back when they did. How much rain did you end up with in San Juan? Last I heard was 3". Do you have any links to newspaper sites I can forward to them? English, please. Let the sunshine!!!!

caribepr wrote:The sun is out!!!! The sky is BLUE!!! If the ground dries up I can get my vehicle out of the mud!!! There are actually people mowing lawns this morning, even as the water is still pouring off the high areas, one of the first times the sound of a mower on Saturday is a welcome sound to hear.
Also in San Juan the sky is blue with the sun very strong and I can see some children playing in a small park that is nearby my condo after almost a week without doing so.
