Lol, shields up Florida! Jokes aside this could be trouble for many people.

I keep thinking of this as the Spaghetti-O model.

Has our luck ran out in the US this tropical season? All models now on board with development. Will be watching this one closely on the Florida west coast.

It's going to be a long week or two ahead, if the wave does even develop. Otherwise the season/models are just trolling us.

This is what Heat Miser said about this.

12Z Euro caught whatever virus the 12Z GFS has. Major hurricane to NE Gulf coast 10 days.

I will definitely be watching this one. This one would be really close to me, I live about 35 miles south of Tallahassee, a few miles from the Gulf. I know it is still 10 days out, but after watching my dad go through Maria and now Fiona it is scary.

Thats a rather misinformed tweet. All tried and true modeling kept Fiona a recurver (minus one GFS run). I get the overall point, but using the Canadian as a standard bearer of accuracy is lacking.

Yea same, CMC was overdoing the ridging causing that solution but the recurve solution has been there for a while.

Point well taken, but we must admit this is a different situation. That cmc solution was seen from the start as an unlikely outlier. Assuming this storm forms (still questionable, looking more likely) it’s either going west, or eventually bending north. Since there’s not much to pull this north in the next couple of days, it seems a lot less likely that this would recurve east of the US like Earl or Fiona

Welp those model runs are... interesting to say the least, could be a big one. Hopefully it doesn't end up too destructive

First time looking at models this afternoon since this morning before I started to work.

Definitely not the trend in our favor for a threat for the US.

Here’s the full 12Z EPS run to 360 hrs, the entire north Gulf and Florida seems to be in play here
