Satellite data indicate that the depression has strengthened to a
tropical storm with maximum winds estimated to be near 50 mph (85
km/h). This will be incoporated in the next advisory that will be
released before 11 pm AST (0300 UTC).

Unless explicitly stated, all info in my posts is based on my own opinions and observations. Tropical storms and hurricanes can be extremely dangerous. Do not think you can beat Mother Nature. Refer to an accredited weather research agency or meteorologist if you need to make serious decisions regarding an approaching storm.

Good chance this was a depression since yesterday evening and probably a tropical storm already since afternoon.

Not sure about a center relocation yet but I wouldn't be surprised if it does try to relocate it under the convection at some point though.

Estimated pressure 1002mb , pretty impressive .Definetely didnt see this coming on the gfs or euro .

The updraft core from the surface circ looks like it is tilted south to the convection now?
Not exactly ideal ventilation but shear could be weakening if the earlier forecast was wrong.
NHC wouldn't have upgraded if forecast shear was going to blow the tops off.
Recon will be in there tomorrow and we will know more then.

Yea recon tomorrow gonna be very interesting, it seems to be outperforming all models in the midst of moderate shear (even had the half the circulation exposed earlier today).

if get stronger and expect that move to north sooner but still afect island down their but pass east Bahama but may pass close to bermuda we see what guys at nhc will say

Went out for a bit and came back to a 50 mph storm. Not bad at all though Fiona will probably be messy for the next several days like Earl.
