It was just reported on KPRC-2 (NBC) in Houston. A Hispanic male's body was found dismembered and wrapped in several garbage bags in an apartment in southwest Houston. A woman and two (maybe three) children reportedly lived in the apartment also. However, their whereabouts are unknown at this time. An Amber Alert may be issued later if the children are detemined to be missing.
There's an urban legend in KY that a nurse I worked with in the ER told me. He said that every time a convict is executed in KY (which isn't as often as here in TX), the crime (with almost the exact circumstances) for which the person was convicted is committed again by someone else. The only one I know about was a convenience store murder. The same night that a killer of a convenience store clerk was put to death, another convenience store clerk was killed in a similar crime.
I never bothered to research it and I'm sure it's just a tale. But hearing about the dismembered body in Houston made me think about it. So now, maybe it will be an urban legend in TX -- every time someone is acquitted for a crime that they more or less admit to having committed (Robert Durst, in this case, killing and dismembering Morris Black), the same crime will be discovered to have been committed less than 30 hours from the acquittal of the first crime.
Does that make sense? I've had the hiccups since I started typing. Gotta go! I can't hold my breath and type.
