A break for Puerto Rico from the rain or more to come?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

A break for Puerto Rico from the rain or more to come?

Well this evening most of Puerto Rico has cleared from all the rain that has fallen for the past 5 days. The only area that still is raining this evening is the extreme eastern portion of the island and also in the islands of Culebra and Vieques and the US Virgin Islands.Let's hope that this break in the rains is a long one to then those rivers and creeks can go down.

cycloneye
that question is the same one we have been asking all day too.
we had a break today but we don't know if it's over or not
is this thing on the move now?
I sure hope those rivers and streams go down in PR

Im pretty sure more TS will regenerate overnight to our southwest and we might do it all over again tomorrow but probablly not as intense. Watch for regeneration of TS about 150 miles sowthwest of Ponce tonight. The key will be wich way the trogh moves. if it lifts norht then we are in trouble but if it moves more east than north then we might get lucky, but not so in the Islands to our east.

I know cycloneye
that is what everyone is worrying about.
the Met Office is warning us to watch out since we already have had 9 inches of rain
do you have any good idea of when this thing will move and when we might start getting more rain here?
It just seems to be sitting over PR and VI

If the trough that is now in the mona passage moves eastward by tommorow then you will get those heavy rains tommorow. And another thing to watch is that it doesn't develop into a TD while it moves NE to the northern leewards. But to say with precision when that trough will move it is not easy to say msbee but IMO tommorow it may start to move to the northern leewards but let's see what happens.

It is still raining on Culebra, though the heavy rains of the past hour or so have slowed. I'd say it's been raining all day steadily except for about 45 minutes...but at the moment it is slowing more and more, though still steady. The radar looks to give some hope for us, perhaps in the next hours if it's slowed so much over the big island, but not for those east of us...:( Even as I type this, it's picking back up again
