Latest report of rainfall as of noon EST:

Fajardo=11.10 inches
Naguabo=10.66 inches
Patillas=9.15 inches

So the rainfall totals continue to rise dramaticly and maybe what JB said on monday about 20 inches for PR comes thru if this continues.

rihgnt now very heavy rain ( the heaviest i have seen so far)

Well Here in Toa Baja, right now everything is under control we dont have any flooding yet. But the schools close at 10:30 am to prevent any emergency. We are watching very carefully The La Plata River, because its raining alot in Cayey, and this river came from this city. But the bad news is that I heard the news and the Meteorolgy Ada Monzon , channel 11 univision PR said more rain for 12 to 24 Hours, because this thing its stationary. :eek:

yea i saw her too!

she even say the possibility of 4 to 6 inches per hour at some location on the southeast because of this thing is stationary

and that is scary!! :cry:

Yes gilberto watch that river there because as it rains where it is born at Cayey that water will go downstream so be careful and stay dry my friend.

we've had 9 inches already here but we don't have the rivers and streams you have in PR so our flooding is minor so far
I wish this thing would start moving and get out of the neighborhood!
we are told to expect 3-4 inches more here when it begins to move Northeast.
enough for PR! that is just too much rain at one time! why is it always feast or famine?
let's start pushing this thing away from all the islands please!!!!

Gilberto the NWS office just posted a flash flood warning for Dorado and Toa Baja.They say that La Plata river is going to get out of it's bank so watch out over there in Toa Baja.

Listening to the radio reports from St. John I heard this older West Indian woman saying she was thankful for the rain filling the cisterns and aquafers and we should not complain, that we have sunshine almost all the time...Roads are impassable on St. John now and it will be a huge clean up across the islands, but it was a good reminder of how wonderful it usually is here. Hopefully there will be no tragedies...roads and roofs (my neighbor had the police over awhile ago putting tarps on her roof) can be repaired. And the rain just now almost tripled in downpour strength ...

Hello guys! Well, here in Gurabo, the situation can't be worse, the Gurabo River went out of it's course early this morning passing over the bridge that conect us with the main roads. The road to my home was flooded by the river and we can't get out. For now we don't have more problems because the flood does'nt reach us over here although the river waters are somewhat near my house. It has been raining all day, it's still raining and with this system as stationary as it is, more heavy rain is expected tonight and tomorow so our situation will persist for a while. Actually I can see the flood from my bedroom window. I really hope this situation end soon!

caribepr a flash flood warning has been issued for Culebra,Vieques and the US Virgin Islands until 12:30 AM so be on guard where you are at Culebra.

Thanks Cycloneye - have heard the warnings and I think everyone is pretty well staying close to home. If you know Culebra, you know we pretty well run into the sea at every point...the bay and other shore lines are filthy with run off, but it DOES run off. I would like to hope it will be a good erosion lesson to the newcomers who forget that that raw earth has to go somewhere when it rains.

Thanks T W. Woke to rain but amazingly it's stopped now. Going to check a bit more on the official weather word for today before deciding if I'm going to try the bad roads and actually go to work.

More rain is instore for you but the key for heavy or light rain for that area will be where that low pressure is going to move.Right now it is located just SW of Cabo Rojo moving NNE and now the west and south portion of PR is where it is raining hard so watch there during the day as this shield of rain spreads eastward.
