From KXAN:

6:38 p.m. A new tornado warning has been issued for Elgin, McDade and Coupland until 7 p.m. A “particularly dangerous situation” tag has been attached to this storm. Seek shelter now.

A confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado is located near Bartlett, or near Granger, moving northeast, NWS says.

Yep the SPC and HRRR did a good job forecasting this event. Definitely not a bust with several tornadoes still on the ground.

Too bad these storms are moving into a huge radar hole. Even worse now that the Ft. Hood radar is down.

The good news is that I've heard that the radar tower is still standing.

Maybe EF2 to EF3

The tornado blew through just before Val got there, it was completely rain-wrapped, which made it more dangerous & scary.

Val is currently assisting the residents impacted by the tornado

I watched a chaser stream this. There's definitely significant damage around Kingston (I have family in Madill.) The storm looked like it was the one that started near Decatur and moved through Gainesville then into Oklahoma. Same cluster that generated the Jacksboro tornado. Been saying this a lot but triple point tracker.

The other being the well advertised S-C Texas event.

More cells starting to fire behind the main line of supercells, a couple already have some rotation.

Any idea why the big hail didn’t materialize? Seems to be a completely tornado event

They really should put a radar somewhere between Tyler and Huntsville. It's crazy such a large swath of land bisected by I-45 is basically blind with little to no radar coverage.

Getting a bad feeling about that southern supercell near Giddings. Chasers reporting tornado on the ground but not confirmed yet. And it's heading straight for College Station. Also Ft. Hood radar is back

Hard to tell without looking at a nearby sounding. Part of it may actually be that the larger hail did materialize but just wasn't reported. Often times this happens on big tornado days. Hail takes a back seat. It's one of the reasons why we (NWS) underestimate hail, especially if we go heavy on using reports.

Supercell moving towards Lyons and College Station is a beast. Hard hook echo even that far away from radar.
