Man, not sure what the 0z CAMS and Mesoscale models were initializing off of, but they're doing horrible compared towards current radar right now. Looks like the 1z RAP and HRRR have started correcting already though.

Storms still flaring up moving into the metro. Had been expected to weaken by now

Officially had a high of 97 in McAllen today....Summer reminding the RGV that is around the corner  My weather station recorded a high of 102 but the majority of other close by weather stations mostly recorded 97-98s.

Total Rainfall so far for March at my backyard a whopping 0.04"

I'm in an extremely favorable position right now.

Storms moving north but building south, I may get a lot of rainfall from this.

Storms are definitely weakening up here now. Nothing severe, but it's nice to hear thunder again 8-)
Thankful for the rain though. Definitely a nice way to start spring.

Devastating fires out west.

Some small towns largely destroyed it sounds like. Geez.

So I went back and looked up when the last Day 5 enhanced risk was, and it turns out it was 1/10/20. Before that it was the one and only 5/20/19. So yeah it's been a while.

Received 0.2 inches of rain overnight. Noticed an "odd" smell when I went outside. Smells like "fall" - burning wood. Noticed Bush airport is reporting smoke. It's the Eastland fires east of Abilene.

Looks like Monday is going to be more SE of DFW. Denton is not even in the 15% zone as of this morning.

Thoughts on mowing and laying down Fertilizer? I've got Bermuda. Think I'm good or wait?

What a great storm here. We'll probably finish with about 1.25" of liquid QPF and we got 1.5" of snow too. Just what we needed.

Yup, looks like it's trending toward a NE TX or Ark-La-Tex event again. I've noticed the SPC has been shifting their area further and further east each day, so now the Hill Country and SA are pretty much out of the risk area.

Frustrating trend, but not surprising given the background state (e.g. -PDO, La Nina, etc.). The death ridge is going to be awful this summer.

Ugh. Need some rain. Dryline needs to stay west. Still nothing even yesterday except a few drops.

I'm guessing 0.75-1.50 qpf for Monday's event. Which if comes to pass likely makes March another in a long string of deficit months. Locally could be higher in some storms but not broad enough to be a drought buster. Take what we can get. Feedback is real now.

On the other side we may get another coolish to near normal month. At least for now the heat hasn't coupled.

I’m on the western edge of slight risk for Monday. Hope it trends west again, but unlikely. Sprinklers are in tomorrow to water pre emergent more than it got earlier this week.

NAM is in range and already suggesting a threat more west beginning Monday and PDS threat for Central Texas including Wilco and Travis. Bears watching.

I didn't receive a drop of rain yesterday even though I heard thunder saw the rain clouds but within a few minutes it was gone to the NE so another rain event that left me high and dry.
