I would be honored! Maybe we can get Wxman57 to bring the ice ... LOL.

Not to derail this any further but has anything like this been done before? Regilionally like once a season? Once a year all of Texas?

How,/where could we discuss this and set it up if rules allow for it?

I realize there’s still lots of uncertainties, but what are ya’lls thoughts on what roads would be like Friday? I’m a teacher/hs coach near Denton & we r supposed to have a tournament in Stephenville this weekend. Is that possible?

That has my attention for early March. One thing to have a negative EPO (strong signal for that) but then you add a negative (even neutral AO) and look out. Still could be some meat left on that bone for TX before winter is finished.

Friday morning could be tricky but temps should get above freezing late morning or early afternoon on Friday. Saturday looks chilly but above freezing during the day but keep tabs on the temps because there is a chance of rain at some point on Saturday.

Thank u so much! I’m hoping secretly we don’t go- would be miserable. So maybe if not good til early afternoon Friday, may not be worth the drive.

I'll bring the ice, since the only additional ice you're going to see there this season is in your freezer.

I’m in.

Some of us, mostly Houstonians, met at the Severe Weather Expo at the George R. Brown Convention Center back in 2007 or so. Geez that seems like a lifetime ago now.

Not too surprised by some of the wetter trends on hi-res. While we were in discussion some model deficiencies holding up cold air another factor is also at play. With the main upper energy not directly causing the lift, it's reliant on what comes out of the subtropical jet through the highlands/mountains of Mexico via the Pacific. Another area of poor model initiation.

00z HRRR is a bad scenario unless a lot of that ends up falling as sleet. If this trend continues across the 00z hi-res models then I would expect wide spread upgrades to watchers or warnings.

The waves of precip and temps below 30 will accrete very well.

This may end up being worse than the first Feb storm. The funny thing is that the general public seems less concerned.

Heck the activity on this board reflects that sentiment. I think a lot of folks are going to be caught way off guard Thursday morning especially.

Yeah nearly all of the qpf will fall during temps that stick it like glue. I think most of North Texas will struggle to get to 30 tomorrow. I still have a feeling tomorrow may be the worst day just due to the surprise factor.
