Blending the 12z EPS & GEFS gives you highs on Christmas around 70 for DFW. Ensembles continue to keep the cold bottled up north...

I have a feeling it's going to stay up north. Well get an occasional front that gives us High's in the 50s but nothing major I don't see

Pretty nice shift towards the cooler side on the 00z EPS for Christmas. The op GFS has 80F :sun:

I found a roach inside and saw two outside yesterday. This morning I saw several mosquitos flying around my back porch. What month is it again?

The Arctic air that is being bottled up is starting to get me very concerned because it's just going to keep building & building until the floodgates burst & could unleash an extremely powerful cold wave in January/February/March, there is a chance that it could be even stronger than this past February. (February 2021)

Lets tone it down some lol. You very well may be right, but lets put a bit more substance behind big claims like that. I've seen it bottle up and be wasted over the pacific, or shift east etc more times than I've seen it spill down the sweet spot.

Lets keep focusing on the teleconnections, which are becoming more favorable. The OP models are lost past 5-6 days. Ensembles seem to be the best way to predict potential in the future.

Also, this site no longer works to get point forecasts, based on your zip code. I really loved this. Great for seeing what specifics the models are putting out. Anything else like it? Thanks in advance!

For those of you North of I-20 the Grinch torch, at least the extreme warmth, is just about done with. Front is crossing the northern tier of the state and will bring it down to more seasonable cool the next 5-6 days. Then the models diverge some, we'll have to see if a warm spike hits in time around Christmas.

We’re still finding rattlesnakes around the property like it’s summer. This is nuts.

The frustrating thing is that our source region is loaded with frigid air. However, the road south remains closed….

Word is, there's a wall in the way. I can't confirm nor deny it, but Google Maps doesn't show any wall along the US/Canada border, even in newer sat images.

It's the Jet Stream wall, you can't see it!

12Z GFS has cooler temps Christmas Day than previous runs. Only low-mid 70s for highs in Houston vs. 80F. A bit cool, but I'll survive. May need to take a trip up to the Canadian border soon to make some reinforcements to the wall and the diverter.

I have always thought that some of your posts leave subtle harbingers of what you see down the pipeline. I hope this post is one of them!! :D

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.
