Candles....

#1 Postby Guest » Sun Nov 09, 2003 10:18 pm

I am looking at purchasing candles for family members this Christmas - but I want to get one that is longlasting in burning time and retains it smell for its life. I know Yankee Candles are good - but kinda expensive in my price range.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't know where you are located but here in Ohio there is a company called Molly's soybean candles. The scent is mixed in with a soy bean based 'wax' and the wicks are cotton. They come in many scents and are sold in some feed stores, little stores that sell hand-crafted items, and flea markets. They burn approx 40 hours and smell wonderful. There is a variety of fragrances from floral to cakes and cookies. A search on the net for "soybean candles" should find something for you. Prices for Molly's are $5 each plus shipping and handling. I did see another site offering candles for $6.95 + sh & h. Good luck.

ticka, i love yankee candles. but ur right about the cost. but if u buy a tart burner and the tart candles they last a long time and i believe they smell better and last. you get more aroma, so that is what i buy and its cost is about 99 cents each.
