Long range forecast - Thanksgiving forecast .....

#1 Postby Guest » Sun Nov 09, 2003 10:15 pm

Just curious if anyone has seen any long range forecasts and know what the weather is going to be like during Thanksgiving here in SE Texas? Seems like the last couple of years its been really warm - would like to have a cooler Thanksgiving.

Comments and forecasts by are welcome.

LOL, yep, I am forecasted to gain about 5 pounds!

Last one was bitter cold, but no snow, hope it either snows, or is warmer!

I would like to know also. Someone I work with is getting married on Thanksgiving weekend and she is asking me what it will be like at that time. Any info would be much appreciated. ;)

We believe 11/20 to about 11/28 will be mostly quite mild, highs in 60's, however in 11/29/12-2 time frame we predict coastal storminess and berlow normal temps. This for DC metro.

I'm hoping we get a good cold snap for Thanksgiving. It's almost time for the first frost but you wouldn't know it judging by the temps so far this fall.

"I'm Dreamin' of a White Thanksgiving, just like the ones I use to know!" Turkey day for us generally is snowy, bitter cold and WINDY! The way this pattern is settin' up here in Az....it appears one system after another one for the next 1-2 weeks! I'll pass it your way ticka!

I really hope it's at least cool here for Thanksgiving. I hate having a warm Thanksgiving with the a/c blasting while you're enjoying your dinner.

So true bfez, I've looked at the long range forecasts on accuweather and they show it getting down into the 30's by next weekend. I know it's a long way off but still something to look forward to.

Ticka, I believe that we here in the Midwest(yes you too Jacki) will be seeing the effects of an early snowstorm sometime that week(accding to my math teacher who got that from Farmers Almanac...)...you will probably get no more than a bit of rain...

Really? Me? Ooh goodie!!

LOL, I predicted the first snowfall to be on my birthday (November 21) just as a joke, but it would be really cool if it happened, that is the Friday before Thanksgiving!

Hey Jacki, check this out! From Cincinnati's FOX station...

There are many Novembers with no measurable snowfall, but I think this one has the potential for significant snowfall if we get just one strong southern storm and a good push of arctic air at the same time.

Ticka... I believe that the pattern of cooler temps will grip much of the southern Plains by Thanksgiving, but I don't know if it will get far enough south to effect you or not.

Well from what i have been just looking it it seems the week of Thankgiving just may be a very stormy week with lots of cold air from the TN/Central Plains/Mid Atlantic on north and even some nice cool temps down to the Gulf (Not including FL/GA as of yet)..................BTW snow is very possible that week from the Central Plains on east which includes, The Rock, Jacki, Me, wx247, and Weather53 (Even though he says mild)................This is very early to say for sure but this is what im seeing from the resources i have and to remind everyone it could change:)

I hope you are right. That would coincide with the Thanksgiving forecast I saw from one of the local mets last night as well. :)
