New Orleans is not the place to ride out a major hurricane. 1500+ souls were lost in the New Orleans area with Katrina, lets not have that happen again......MGC
And as I recall the eastern side of the city caught some hurricane-force winds, but as all of us know it was the water and the failure of the system that doomed New Orleans. I’ll never forget that as long as I live. My old stomping grounds, the good ol’ Mississippi Gulf Coast, got decimated….along the eyewall and in that infamous NW quadrant.
In some ways this could very well be worse due to the topography as well as its location in the NW quadrant…should the current projection hold. It’s worrisome, to say the least. And it’s easy for me to say that, I know, sitting tight in Mobile and watching it all unfold. Absolutely correct, this is nothing to play with.
