First 'center' might be a mesovort. That along with the larger pressure field indicates low level organization may have actually decreased, pending what we see for the rest of the flights.

Can’t decide what’s worse, the 11 days post Sandy I spent freezing with no power, or the thought of 7-10 days of no power with upper 80s forecast after this storm. PSEGLI already emailing us about potential outages, and the hurricane warnings are up on the highway overpass signs. Clouds also look stormy already.

Remember the massive evacuation orders, those days are over. However, way too many people evacuate that have no reason too but hey when did common sense ever prevail.Blown Away wrote:
Amazing how specific the NHC has become with their Warning Area, use to be such a large area for error back in the day.

I’d much rather take the outages now then in late October/early November

Good luck out there!

My husband is filling gas tanks and making sure the generator is ready just in case. He did a Costco run this morning. Hopefully, we don't lose electricity.

The Smaller Circulation has a lower pressure than the broader one . . .

Those are some weird pressure readings from the last pass through the center...almost like they missed the center south of them

When will this data be incorporated into the models? Think it just missed the 0z run.

60kt/992mb looks good for 8pm based on this pass. I’m surprised the NHC was spot-on with the winds; Henri doesn’t look that impressive on satellite.

Tomorrow is when it'll tap into some big-time CAPE air.
Should see it start to crank then.

Looks like CAPE will diminish before landfall and should be sucking in dry air then.

The CB over the center is concerning. Whatever low-level issues Henri has will be resolved quickly if it persists

Latest GFS forecast showing a somewhat stronger ULL to Henri's SW on approach.
May see a bit more jog to the west as previously thought.
NYC looking to be more under the gun.

What's concerning to me is that it seems to slow down quite a bit after landfall. Might be some very impressive rainfall totals...Anyone know if they are predicting any flooding at this time?

Yes, the northeast as a whole is water-logged. Where it slows to a crawl will likely have flooding issues.

Meanwhile my advisor just straight up was like “I’m going to Cape Cod on Sunday to visit family” and was very surprised to hear about a hurricane...*facepalm*
