I usually become very depressed around the Holidays. But not this year because I'm going to spend Christmas at home in Michigan. Our family hasn't spent a Christmas together in 14 years so this should be really fun.

My grandmother died just before Christmas in 1995. Time does heal all wounds, but as another poster mentioned, my holidays haven't been the same since meemaw died :(

I love the holidays! I used to get depressed though when I felt that I HAD TO bake cookies, wrap, decorate, mail cards, entertain, shop, etc. There's so much unnecessary pressure that people put on themseleves. Marty & I do tend to battle it out as to when we get the Christmas tree. I like having it about two weeks before Christmas, but there has been times when he's procrastinated (on purpose I think) that he'd wait until the week before.

My Grandfather passed away on Christmas in 1995 after a long illness. He was the first relative that I ever had at that time to die. As Karan said, there are alot of people that I wish were still with us to share the holidays with, but it's also a season of reflection, so they are kind of there with you anyhow.

Have a great ime HG!!

I've gone out to get the tree before - once. The one I picked was very full and pear shaped but SHORT. I never lived that one down. He's picked some winners himself though. It all evens out!
