NEG MJO - in fact, the MJO was at its lowest mean during the tropical season just recently ... currently even more NEG than during Fabian and Isabel ...

POS (positive) and NEG (negative) phases of the MJO run in 30-60 day cycles ... POS phases are dry phases and NEG phases are wet phases of the MJO ... currently the MJO is NEG and that can easily be told by looking at the ITCZ currently ...
