I'm not a pro by any means but I think he said this a bit prematurely... Next week doesn't really look very impressive with a weakening cutoff low moving through. That could lead to heavy rain though which would explain the AA precip prediction from CPC.
That being said however it's still over a week out and he very well could end up being right if things change. But I'm just not seeing anything that really makes next week look like a significant tornado event right now.
Also I have a lot of respect for this guy (as well as all pro mets) so he very well may be right

Isn’t he also the one who told people to get in their cars and drive away from the tornado during Moore and El Reno?

Me might be but I'm not entirely sure on that one. Ice might know though. I haven't watched much of his coverage since I'm not in their area.
