TheProfessor wrote:Well my background check cleared this afternoon and I have a start date penciled in on June 7th! I will be moving to Wichita on June 1st but my family and I are going to spend some time in DFW and see family. I will be leaving Miami this Saturday though, I'll be with my parents in Louisiana for a few weeks. Weather wise Miami was a bust, it's been abnormally dry and I haven't gotten the thunder storms I wanted. The dry season wasn't very fun either. It would be an understatement to say that I'm excited though!

Congratulations! :D :D :D

Hopefully my area will benefit from this. The rain boundary has only been about 30 miles from where I live. It's so frustrating. However, knowing the weather here, it will go from being bone dry like it is to flooding rain events in a short time period.

Where we live it seems every extended dry period ends in a flood. We were bone dry and then boom 12” in 3 days. Seems to be happening a lot lately.

Those poor people in New Mexico and west TX need rain desperately. Unfortunately for them they probably won’t get any. I don’t see how people could live out there if I’m being completely honest. I would be bored outta my mind.

Oh my gosh, we took a trip out at Big Bend/Alpine/Marfa area a couple months ago. It was bone dry! Even the people who live there said it has been very dry/years of drought. Dust everywhere.

If it doesn't start raining soon where I live, dust is going to be here everywhere too. It's awful mowing grass right now because of all the dust kicked up by the mower. I actually need to get out and cut the grass. It's somehow still growing, but it is starting to wilt in places now. Pretty sure the flood after having extended dry weather will happen soon. It's supposed to rain Tuesday and Wednesday at my location, but I will not be surprised if it rains a couple drops or if it floods. :D

The Euro is showing a big system next weekend into next week. That’s the one I’m watching. Hopefully your area can cash in Tuesday/Wednesday this week. Looks like better chances north of 10 again.

Well, I am north of 10, just not far enough north apparently. :D

I was hoping for a trend with the models for more rain, but it appears they are detracting now. Euro had my area getting around 6 inches in a 10 day period and has now reduced the amount by half. This is so frustrating. Hopefully these trends will reverse soon.

The latest Euro loves central and north Texas. Looks like possible ridging to our east could prevent it from getting too far east but that’s next weeks storm system so a lot could change. It’s a bowling ball low though so it’s looking pretty potent next week. Could be a major problem for someone.

Got clobbered with nickel sized hail. Yard is white. Landscaping was done today but the new plants seem good.

Storms over DFW are elevated, not surprised by some of the hail reports. It's in the upper 50s, quite chilly for this time in MAY. In fact these are about what the normal lows should be in the lower 60s.
