We’ve been barely missing good snow. Under other circumstances I’d be pretty unhappy. But with no power, I’m kinda glad it’s missing our area

Yea came on around 11:00pm off at ~6:45am. No power since.
On Cantebury, so like right around the corner from you.

Odd. Your the second person thag said they don't have power here. Ours came on middle of the night, been on since. I just assumed everyone was good.

Folks without power are not posting much...

I meant here as in Ponder, he lives around the corner from me. I have another neighbor around the corner and power is out too.

Finally back on after 36 hours with no power. Got down to 40 in the house. Don't want to ever go through that again. I'll take a little more snow on Thursday please. Then I'm done with winter until next year.

Luckily my power seems to be on a rolling blackouts some just have had it most of the day. I know people a couple blocks down who have had no power at all the past two days. Thankfully design of house is such that even without power and -5 outside the house was still 55.

I am going to try to refresh myself on what tomorrow's storm will bring so I can update my people on it. Hate missing out on forecasting a winter storm but priorities shift. On the plus side just a kind neighbor that we have never met drop off some wood unannounced. The joys of living in a tight knit community. The stories from the community FB page of people helping people are amazing.

Power outage across Houston increased significantly around 4:30 this morning (me included). I'm at our office for tonight, "sleeping" here. Ha! Forgot my pain pills. We have lights and electricity, but water flow is weak and toilets won't flush.

Rumor has it that the reason for the sudden massive outage around 4:30 today was that the South Texas Nuclear Project near Victoria had a coolant issue (frozen coolant pump? I heard that once the problem is fixed, it takes about 72 hours to restart the plant. That means sometime on Friday for power to be restored. With STNP down and all the wind farms also down due to icing, that means ERCOT has no way to meet electricity demand. Enjoy the cold all you winter-lovers.

Down to 41.78% with power at 7:30pm from 46.23% at 2:30pm. Losing about 1% per hour. Good news is that temps across Houston have risen to 33-34 degrees tonight with light onshore winds.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to find 16” or more of combined snow on the ground in the morning. It’s still dumping. This is insane.

Well we wrapped our pipes and have been dripping all our faucets and we never lost power but we've got water on the bathroom floor anyway with an unknown source now

It is not but what is out there right now is putting down to good flakes where I'm at. Most of the mid cities.

it hasn’t stopped snowing for about 5 hours now. It feels like it’s been raining with how fast it’s coming down. I have no clue how much snow we’ve added but all surfaces are pretty thickly covered in snow in Norman now.

Moderate snow here. Flakes are getting big and cars are covered.
