Latest Gfs (12z jan 28) run shows significant snow across most of Georgia starting at 216 hours out.

Seems like a weird one-off - next run lessens the extent of the moisture and keeps the region a bit warmer. There's not even much of a low pressure system associated with it on either run, so I'm not surprised.

Tennessee might luck out on the backside of the next system for some flurries though.

Obviously will change but for now, the 00Z Euro has snow for the entire gulf coast in 1 week.

Didn't mention it here, but parts of North Georgia managed to capture some flurries yesterday, with places in the mountains receiving some amount of accumulating snow. Was nice to see at the very least, especially since the pattern doesn't seem too favorable at least throughout the first part of this month for some more serious wintry fun.

The feb 3 12z gfs run is a snow dream. Forecast hours 240-270 is a sweet south east winter dream.

Same here on waiting for a shorter range forecast. The latest looks not quite so cold. I also prefer warmer weather but after last year's hurricane season I'll take some cold.

It appears that in a week, snow will begin falling for a period of time. With a high chance of a polar intrusion, storms that ordinarily bring rain will bring a mix and snow at times with a cold front essentially sitting on top of metro Atlanta for close to a week. With a stall, considerable snowfall could occur around metro Atlanta.

Apparently, the Euro 00z run is interested in dropping some snow (somewhere between 1 and 4 inches) on North Georgia on this weekend's small-scale precipitation event, which is pretty wild.

Of course, my focus is on that larger event being discussed about a ton in the Texas thread next week. But this managed to catch my eye as well.

Its snowing hard. It began snowing at 45 degrees and now its 34. About an inch has fallen.

Over here on the NW side of Atlanta, haven't quite gotten to see anything truly wintry - have had brief bouts of sleet/freezing rain but the majority of the event so far has been a cold rain. Temperatures are still dropping, so I'm hoping we manage to see some flakes overnight, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

How much has fallen now over there in Buford, Inferno?

its a freezing rain now. We were under heavy snow for a while and it is swinging between freezing rain and snow. Its 33 degrees rn so more snow is likely.

GFS with a big snow event all the way down to the coast mid next week. Hopefully it doesn’t change again! And temps close to single digits all the way down to the coast. Wow! Don’t think I’ve ever seen that
