Yeah pretty much stopped here. Radar looks better than reality.

Is Porta in town today?
Somewhere in scenic southwest Austin making mini snowmen and snowomen.
Or sitting by the fire, looking out the window, smiling big, and raising a glass of Grey Goose to Wxman57.

Still getting flurries here in Dallas, nothing sticking though. The heavier snow earlier was fun, hoping for better results next time. Looks like we have 2 potential setups in the pipeline next week (1/18 and 1/22)

Pretty decent flakes falling in Prosper/Celina area (Collin County) nothing sticking yet. Maybe we will get lucky later on. I fear we are too far north.

The hole is growing. Guess some dry air or maybe the storms south of us tapped the moisture? Sounds like the ULL later tonight may be our only option.

I think we're on track here in Austin to record the city's biggest snowfall event since January 1985. Madonna's Like a Virgin was the number one song then.
The GOES-16 lightning mapper recorded a lightning strike over NE Austin at around 1850z (12:50pm central), which appears to confirm that there was in fact thundersnow over Austin. Amazing.

Was coming down decent with a dusting but as precip rates diminished it's turned to mainly rain north of Tyler.

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation
Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?
All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

You may have an opportunity later this evening and overnight to get a little bit of accumulations as temperatures get cooler overnight. I think the NWS in FW spoke of 1/2 in their most recent AFD even as far north as Gainesville. They also spoke of the possibility to extend WWA areas.

Congrats to Austin and hopefully the next one will be better in DFW

I'm not sure my heart can take another borderline event.

Re: Texas Winter 2020-2021
Congrats to everyone who has seen any snow today, measurable or not! I know I complain a lot because this marks another event in DFW without an inch of snow, but I genuinely am happy for all you guys who are seeing once a decade snowfalls! For us metroplexers, the curse will end sometime!

I am not a meteorologist. Anything posted by me should not be taken as an official forecast. Get your information from respected sources such as NWS and NOAA. I get my weather information the same way Hank Hill does ..... I look out the window and say ... "YUP".
