Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation
Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?
All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Sure, does my location not show up in the sidebar?
-East Austin.
It shows up in the sidebar. On the mobile site it is harder to see people's locations though.

I-30 appears to be a barrier on the radar that the precip can’t seem to overcome.

You're probably staring at it for too long. Snail pace.

Yes it is starting to develop just off the Texas coast near Brownsville.

Still a mix, snow intensity varying from some flakes to pretty good flurry, accumulating on my yard in spots.

Oh ok, so who liked the post? That would mean less snow, right?

Nothing that SouthernMet posts, is an official forecast, nor does it reflect views of STORM2K.. SouthernMet is just adding to the great discussions on STORM2K.. Refer to NWS for official forecasts.

Actually, no. And here's why (I think) ... the other day it seemed like the models developed the surface low off the middle Texas coast and not deep south Texas. I think it's far enough away and the timing is off, so the upper low is not being starved of moisture. It's a positive development for us snow starved Texans.

Those of y'all who aren't seeing snow right now are going to work yourselves into a frenzy if you keep staring at the radar. My advice is to whip up a hot drink and just relax and look out the window.

The leading edge is a bit deceptive at least in Tarrant county. It may look like rain on radar but at least from the reports it's snow.

RadarScope precip depiction showing rain for much of DFW. Not sure how accurate.
