I know right? As I was driving through DFW out here earlier I just couldn't help think what could have been with this one

As much as I'm enjoying the fact I chased I still would rather it have been right at home. It really drove me crazy with the fact it shifted away from the metro the last few days. This wasn't some little moisture starved flizzard. That's ulimately why I had to hit the road today... I just had to

I really hope we get another one this winter and maybe it'll have more cold air

Anyway peak of the snow out here in Abilene earlier

I usually post pics of Abilene snow, but I think Brent gets the kudos tonight. Nice video, glad you came to Abilene and enjoyed it. Now. When is the next one? :cold:

I am not a meteorologist. Anything posted by me should not be taken as an official forecast. Get your information from respected sources such as NWS and NOAA. I get my weather information the same way Hank Hill does ..... I look out the window and say ... "YUP".

Thanks :) honestly part of the reason I do this is because I know so many people like looking at them and also a lot of people who don't chase and don't go to snowy places like I do who need to see it

I echo that when's the next one this was just a little appetizer from where I sit tbh...

Please tell me more about this mythical snow machine. I already have a good compressor.

This site is a little pricy but explains well. Basically it’s a smaller version of ski resorts. https://www.snowathome.com/our_products ... wmaker.php

Any signs in the long range forecasts of any significant cold fronts that could impact North and Central Texas?

Models show blocking holding strong over the next couple of weeks with a number of systems moving underneath and across the Southern Plains. The blocking is so extreme that it currently isn't allowing any cold air to build up north but that should change over time. We will have multiple threats to track as long as this blocking holds strong and there are indications that it could hold well into February or even March. Should be fun times for Texas.

I'm late to the party but I just watched Brent's video and saw the photos from Brent and Yukon ... great stuff, fellas! Thanks for sharing and here's hoping next time Brent won't have to leave his home to get similar video!

I'm just happy that I got about 2" of rain the last few days. #LiquidGold.

So the blocking that is in place currently is preventing cold air to build up north, but we need it to stay in place to have the cold air make it down this way?

Be careful going down that hill in Ranger. Most people pretty amazed that there’s that steep of a grade in Texas

it's actually been cut down a lot and it's not nearly as steep as it was. Still working on it though.

I would like a little more on this as well. I think I kinda understand it but not sure.

Everything was good when I left didn't even see anything that really made me iffy. I've always heard about that hill but in 6 years living here thats the first time I've gone through it lol

I am back home now pretty much as soon as I left Ranger the snow quickly disappeared

Some light rain falling here in Irving. I'll keep searching for a rogue snowflake.

So now that I'm back home this whole thing about the Dallas snowless streak(which has flared up again with me since last night) I was under the impression it was the longest but according to Delkus it's only in 3rd place although it'll be in 2nd if it's doesn't happen this winter

8 years really? Back to back streaks in the late 80s-early 2000s too that must have sucked :spam:
