Does it seem like a sleet is mixing in with this heavy downpour?

Yup. That or the smallest hail I've ever seen

Just called NWS FWD and reported it. They were looking at it on radar and appreciated the report. Very dynamic storm over us here right now.

I am right down the highway from where you are. Just left the Walmart across the street. You picked the right time to come to Abilene. Enjoy it :D

I am not a meteorologist. Anything posted by me should not be taken as an official forecast. Get your information from respected sources such as NWS and NOAA. I get my weather information the same way Hank Hill does ..... I look out the window and say ... "YUP".

I expect DFW area temps to finally start falling soon as the low seems to be near Tyler now on its way north.

My wife’s parents live in Abilene, but we didn’t go for Christmas because of COVID, so can’t go for this. Lol.

Looks like transition ending at Tarrant border right now. Come east just a bit...

I’ve got a picture of our “winter” weather. Possibly some sleet on my back patio.

Not sure how to post a picture of here though.

This is such a classic winter storm on radar compared to the puny things we have tracked the past few years. The snow zone is so close.

Decatur is getting something I would think. Pretty high reflectivity on radar

Sleet mixed with rain in North Fort Worth. Enough to cover our patio table with ice pellets.
