Instead we get days of rain as much as we really need it I'm not looking forward to it this is gonna be a big what could have been :spam:

And honestly I don’t really see anything exciting on the models after this event.

Jealous of those who live in Midland. I did for several years. They always get these things or Lubbock. Just shocked at how far west this is trending. Wow. I thought we would get something.

Pretty much the worst weather imaginable. "Just a cold rain" But, this wasn't supposed to be a winter weather year anyways. Man the models sure were off...

Same but that doesn’t mean much. The evolution of this storm really didn’t look like anything too special until yesterday, and the lack of continuity in the long range is about as encouraging as it is discouraging, imo

I do find it slightly ironic when we wanted a west shift to get rain from the hurricanes we couldn't get one but now :spam:

Interesting eastward shift on the 0Z ICON model this evening, hopefully the start of a trend reversal

So far on the 00z GFS some minor positive changes with the northern stream s/w and the SE ridge. Does it make any difference?

I wish. Temps in 40s through the event for dfw. Nam follows suit. Icon looks better though, for what that’s worth

that cutoff is brutal lol

of course last run a lot of that wasn't snow further east if you look at the frames only a couple frames are semi-interesting for the metro as the precip ends

I know it's selfish of me, but where I'm at would be in the 3 inch zone.

Forecast snow totals for West Texas are wild. 6" for Midland and up to a foot south of there.

What do y'all think the chances this ends up a bit further east? A due north track of the low does not match climatology, but there are always outliers and this may be one. I would bet on a further east track which could bring snow closer to I-35 north of I-10.

It's very intense, but in the thread he is trying to decipher what the pattern will look like in Jan and Feb based off of past experiences.
