Re: Texas Winter 2020-2021
Nice to see a little excitement around here!
FWIW, I’m not buying in until I see the 0z runs Tuesday morning showing said snow event. Until then me and Champ will be in the proverbial “bears watch” mode.

I think if model trends continue through tomorrow, we’ll finally be able to talk “how much” instead of “if”...

Not looking good for those of us in SETX. Just looks like a cold rain but I’ll take it and I’ll be happy for all of those others up there in central or north Texas that get some snow.

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation
Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?
All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

A few years ago the CMC had me at negative 2 and I’m all the way down here in southeast Texas lol

I love the CMC. It’s really good at picking out trends before other models but also frequently gives really laughable runs. It’s good met humor!

Exactly! It got this storm way before the other models (did the same with the two oklahoma storms) but boy does it go crazy sometimes.

I’m rooting for overperformance of wet snow in 30-32 temps. Lots of snow everywhere but the roads please

it is ironic timing that it went down and the 0z GFS/CMC cut down the snow totals somewhat

Too bad it's only going to be cold for a day...I'm in the mood for one of these doesn't get above 35 for 3 days and we get precip type events.

Re: Texas Winter 2020-2021
Euro is strong but more west we need to stop that trend
that would keep most of the snow west of the metro

I don't know what happened on TT but it's on Pivotal it still looks very good for the metro

A westward trend was expected, but hopefully it doesn’t continue. Too much of a westward trend means DFW won’t cash out...again. Hopefully this is a sign of the global models getting out of useful range and, as we start to poop to higher res models, we can see a more accurate picture.

The westward trend has me a bit worried as we all know climatology says that is the usual answer.
I’m not sure what is involved in “poop”ing to high res models but if it will get me some serious snow I’m willing to learn.

Yeah maybe it's just noise but the west trend fits the usual setup where it snows out west and not here(see February when I snow chased)
