Force 13 saying that Eta is now at 130 mph & 946 MB. Landfall expected at 150 mph.

Fast moving tower on the south eyewall.
Probably close to a Cat 4.

Maybe there are outer bands trying to form a secondary eyewall, but the inner one is extremely well defined and won’t be weakening anytime soon.

Looking at Google Earth, it looks like almost Haiti levels of deforestation in NE Nicaragua and eastern Honduras. I hope I’m looking at that wrong or else the landslide potential is off the charts! :eek:

At this intensity, steering is trending to be near zero.
Seems western velocity vector has almost diminished.
May stall.

I was looking at this earlier. It does seem to be slowly down a lot more now.

If a small eye comes in over Laguna Páhara landfall won't be as catastrophic but almost be better to get an Eyewall replacement cycle just prior since otherwise this could stay organized well inland.
