It wouldn't be called a swear/expletive if there was nothing wrong with it.

Sorry, I can't say it any other way.

"F" word on TV.... sex on TV... violence on TV.

Slight tangent, but on Friday night my wife and I went to see "In The Cut" with Meg Ryan. Has anyone seen that yet? Well let me tell you all something. That is the most disturbing movie I think I have ever seen. The things they were saying, the sex on there... oh my God, and the violence.... it was beyond belief. You should have seen me; I was cowering down in my seat because I was so embarrassed. I think we counted about 15 people leave in the middle of it. Now, from an actors perspective, the cinematography and choreography, and acting was flawless, but....although I couldn't leave it, because I think I needed closure with the film, it was very crude, so be prepared if you're planning to go and see it!!! Somebody said, it had a "Seven/Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Fatal Attraction" twist to it!!!! I had to agree!!

Also some songs use the F word, even in their titles.

Example: "F*** 'Em" by David Banner

Thankfully, movies have ratings and admission is controlled. "In The Cut" was "rated R for strong sexuality including explicit dialogue, nudity, graphic crime scenes and language." So, kids aren't apt to be exposed to it, unless it's on cable/satellite at home and the parental controls aren't set.

I think I'll see it sometime, either in theater or on video, since I've been a Meg Ryan fan since the mid-80's when she was on "As The World Turns."

This movie shouldn't have been rated R but "RFE" Restricted for Everybody! Never seen anything like it... check it out Duck.

Thanks for that critique Cy. Think I'll pass. Now I know Pulp Fiction was critically acclaimed but I hated that movie. I was cringing the whole time during PF so I can imagine I'd be leaving that theater during In the Cut. I think I'd be tempted to stand up and yell - CUT! And then walk out.

Duck - I used to be a fan of Meg Ryan's. Until she cheated on Dennis Quaid and left him. She was NOT the girl next door after that! I don't despise her, I'm just no longer a loyal fan of hers. To give him up was just crazy, IMHO.

People freak out when they hear the F word or swear words (Im talking about TV sensors or who ever beebs the dirty words) But why do they not beep out all the Je*** Ch****.. going on on TV and movies.. that seems to be acceptable. Ive never heard people say Buddah or Mohommad.. I have never understood how you can use the Son of God as a swear word. Frankly blasphemy is worse than cuss words... JMHO

Except with the South Park Movie ... and YES, Comedy Central did play the entire movie uncensored early in the morning which I did tape. Otherwise, even though the South Park TV series does regularly use the word, it's never heard due to the bleeps.

Way to finish my thought there SF.......
