If Zeta makes landfall, it will be the 5th one this year.

If Zeta strikes the U.S. as a hurricane, it'd be the sixth after Hanna, Isaias, Laura, Sally and Delta. Plus, just think, at one point it looked like Cristobal, Marco and Beta would have been hurricanes as well.

Five Louisiana landfalls would be an all time record and six US hurricane landfalls would be the most since I think 1985 (a season which took until late November to see its sixth) which itself was the most since 1886. Pretty jaw dropping.

Colors of lost purpose on the canvas of irrelevance

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

According to a tweet I read earlier,2020 is currently tied with 2002 with 4 Louisiana landfalls.

There's a warm spot forming on IR, not sure if that's an eye feature or caused by intense convection

Not an meteorologist! Just someone who is interested in weather. Please refer to the NHC and local weather officials to make decisions.

How symbolic and appropriate. If you move back from your monitor a few steps and then look at GCANE's picture with the two areas outlined in red, it looks like a huge question mark...

Nothing that I post here should ever be treated as a forecast or anything resembling one. Please check with your local NWS office or the NHC for forecasts, watches, and warnings.

Zeta looking great this evening. Recent microwave indicates the hurricane has formed a compact inner core.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

It's sleeting where I'm at, and there is Hurricane Zeta at the very same time! CRAZY

It finally gets its act together just before landfall. Maybe friction?

The last two NOAA flights have had data that wasn't displaying well on Tidbits.

Pressure hasn’t gone down since the last recon flight, but Zeta is WAY better organized, with the LLC well within the expanding CDO and hot towers.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.
